Comfort Keepers® of Reno began operation as a home care agency in 2002, providing in-home care to seniors in and around Reno. Bob Redding founded the Comfort Keepers franchise after having difficulty finding caring, competent senior caregivers for his mother when she had a stroke, was diagnosed with breast cancer and broke her hip in a fall – all in the course of three weeks. He and his mother ended up having a bad experience with a home care agency whose caregivers lacked compassion.
From this experience he discovered the importance of a home care agency that can provide high quality senior caregiving with compassion – and decided to found the Reno Comfort Keepers franchise. Bob chose Comfort Keepers because of its distinctive brand of senior care, Interactive Caregiving™, and its high standards for selecting caregivers who have a heartfelt concern for seniors and helping them continue living safely, happily and independently at home. To make certain all of his senior caregivers are prepared to deliver the Comfort Keepers brand of in-home elder care, he personally provides one-on-one training for all new caregivers. In addition, he attends all in-home assessments that are provided for prospective caregiving clients to determine their in-home care needs and design an appropriate care plan for them and their families. Seniors and families served by Comfort Keepers of Reno appreciate the fact they can work directly with the franchise owner, rather than having to work through layers of management.
Knowing from personal experience what it’s like to be responsible for the care of an aging parent, Bob finds great satisfaction in reducing the stress level of his clients' families. By partnering with families and sharing caregiving responsibilities with them, his senior caregivers lighten their load. With Comfort Keepers, families are not alone.
Comfort Keepers of Reno is an accredited business through the Better Business Bureau and is a unique home care agency when it comes to the stability of its caregiving staff. While high staff turnover is common in the home care industry, most of Bob's caregivers have been with him for five years or more. One has been on staff as long as Bob has. Like Bob, they are dedicated to quality senior caregiving and share his high standards.

Comfort Keepers Mission
Our mission is to provide our clients with the highest level of quality of life that is achievable. We shall treat each of our clients with the respect and dignity they deserve, as though we were caring for a member of our own family.
The special people who deliver our unique brand of in-home senior care (We call them Comfort Keepers®.) are carefully selected, screened, and trained to provide professional, compassionate care.
At Comfort Keepers, we approach senior caregiving as a partnership that involves our Comfort Keepers, their clients and the clients’ families. Through this partnership we relieve the stress that families often experience when a loved one begins to need help at home. For families who take an active role in their loved one’s caregiving, our Comfort Keepersprovide respite care. This allows a family caregiver to take a break, knowing that their loved one is in good, caring hands.
And our compassionate, professional caregivers provide peace of mind to families who live too far away to have a day-to-day role in caregiving. We maintain regular communication to keep them fully informed about their loved one’s care and needs.

Interactive Caregiving™ is based on four primary pillars, which Comfort Keepers leverage to care for, engage, and interact with our clients:
- An active senior mind promotes independence, better mental and physical health, happiness, and a longer life.
- A physically active senior maintains strength and independence, lessening or delaying the effects of aging.
- A well-nourished senior is more energetic, both physically and mentally.
- A safe senior lives in an environment that reduces the likelihood of accidents and promotes timely response when illness or accidents occur.
With our Interactive Caregiving approach, we are able to raise seniors’ quality of life to a much higher level than typical in-home care providers.
